11:30 SERVICE IN ENGLISH

11:30 SERVICE IN ENGLISH

WELCOME TO GELLERTKIRCHE!

Every Sunday, Gellertkirche’s 11:30 service is interpreted into English.

We are looking forward to welcoming you at Gellertkirche! Come worship together with people of all generations, experience God’s presence in new ways, and find renewed strength for everyday life.

Stop by the interpreting booth before the service to pick up a (disinfected) headset and receiver. If you have any questions, just ask the interpreter or one of the greeters—they will be happy to help you.

During the church service, we offer age-appropriate activities (in German) for children (ages 0–12) and teenagers (ages 13–15).

COVID UPDATE

Due to the coronavirus regulations issued by the Federal Council on December 17, 2021, we are no longer able offer free coronavirus testing before our church services. We would like to thank Labor Rothen, our anonymous test sponsor, and all volunteers for their help!

According to the current regulations, only people with a COVID certificate showing that they have been vaccinated or have recovered from the coronavirus may attend Gellertkirche’s services in the sanctuary (2G requirements). Everyone over the age of 12 must wear a mask. These requirements will remain in place from December 24, 2021, until January 2, 2022.

It is still possible to take part in our services in our “live room” (behind the sanctuary) without a COVID certificate. Masks and social distancing are required.

Please visit our YouTube channel to watch a livestream of our Sunday service, videos of past services, and additional videos for all generations (in German).

Gellertkirche employees and volunteers who are not vaccinated may continue to help out at our services if they wear an FFP2 mask.

Currently, a COVID certificate is not required at religious gatherings with fewer than 50 people. All participants must wear a mask.

At the beginning of January 2022, Gellertkirche’s leaders will decide how to proceed based on the situation at that time. Please check our website regularly because things may change with short notice.

Please consult the Gellertkirche’s schedule (in German) to check the status of upcoming events.

small group bible studies

Small group Bible studies (with a maximum of 10 people indoors and 15 people outdoors) may meet in person if participants wear masks and maintain distance. Please do consume food or drinks, so masks can remain on. And please refrain from singing for now.

We encourage small groups to find alternatives to meeting indoors—for example, using online platforms, meeting outside, or going on a prayer walk together.

Gellertkirche currently has one small group Bible study in English for native and non-native English speakers who are interested in praying together, studying the Bible, and fellowshipping in a small group setting. For more information or if you would like to join the group, please contact the small group leader Kathrin Pope.
